The problem with Adobe arose as a result of a lawsuit where Adobe determined that there were too many copies of personal license Adobe products on company-owned machines, and their conclusion was that these personal licenses of the software were being used to perform company work, rather than corporately licensed copies, which cost more. The company's opinion was that you were traveling on their behalf and you were permitted to use you laptop for personal activities as long as it wasn't immoral, illegal, etc., including use of third party applications. And many positions require extensive travel - I traveled 5 days/week, 48 weeks/year for over 10 years. we all work from home - thousands of us - we have no offices. I work for a very large technology company in a division that is entirely distributed. And yes, I have carried two laptops on occasion, if I'm combining a business trip with a vacation.I learned the the lesson to have separate machines for my personal files and different email addresses, etc. In the case of a layoff, typically once you are given notice, you will not be allowed to log on to any company computer for fear that you might transfer corporate secrets. However, the main reason is if you stop working for the company, either because you got a new job or because you were laid off, you typically have to give back the computer.It is better to just get a laptop for personal stuff. I've been told by the legal staff of some companies I've worked for that if I process photos on the machine, that it is possible for the company to claim copyright of the image, depending on what type of contract you signed when you were hired.If you have personal stuff on work gear, you probably would not be able to claim the home office tax exemption (but the rules for that are so strict, that even when I was a work at home programmer with a dedicated office, that I couldn't adhere to all of the rules).

My employer for instance mandates bit torrent type applications be removed. There might be various rules like you mention of what can and can't be on your system.Your employer might have rules against doing so (most of mine did/do have such rules, only one explicitly allowed me to do personal stuff on my own time).I'm certain I must be missing something.Unless you are employed by the company to take photos and are doing the processing for their photos on the machine, it is probably a good idea not to do any personal photo processing on company gear. If I am not intending to do anything tethered, what other advantage is there?. I have been fooling around with Studio 2, but to be honest, it seems like the same interface and the same editing functions as Viewer 2.

and I just downloaded Studio 2 based on the above link (.BTW, that registration number for the Windows version does not seem to work.).
I have Viewer 2 which I use on my work computer since we are not allowed to have any Adobe products on our company machines.
